Where is this service available?
Primary care is available in all US states and Washington DC.
Can I get prescribed medication by a clinician through the Rex MD Platform?
You’ll be evaluated for treatment when you have a primary care visit with Rex MD. While prescriptions aren’t a guarantee, your clinician will determine if a specific medication is right for you and your symptoms as part of your primary care visit.
Does my insurance cover this?
There are two costs to keep in mind: The cost of the primary care visit and the cost of any prescription medication, if your clinician determines it’s appropriate. The cost of the primary visit won’t be covered by your insurance, and is $35.
The cost of the prescription may be covered by your insurance when you pick up the medication at your local pharmacy. Just provide them with your insurance information as you would when picking up any other prescription.
How does the interaction with the clinician work?
The entire interaction takes place online through your phone or computer. First, you’ll answer some questions about your issue, to help your clinician understand how to best help you. Then, within 24 hours, you’ll get a message back from the clinician, and from there you’ll be evaluated for a prescription based on your symptoms and medical information.
How long will it take to hear back from a medical professional?
You should hear back from a clinician on the Rex MD platform within 24 hours.
How do I fill my prescription?
If the clinician prescribes a treatment, you’ll be able to decide between free rush delivery and picking it up yourself in person at a local pharmacy of your choice. If picking it up yourself, select the local pharmacy you’d like to pick your medication up at. Your clinician will follow up by sending them your prescription and you should pick it up in person when it’s ready.
When should I use Rex MD primary care?
You should choose primary care when you want to consult with a medical professional about non-emergency health issues such as flu symptoms, sinus problems, respiratory infections, allergies, and rashes. Your clinician will diagnose your symptoms and provide treatment, which may include a prescription.
Will I consult with a real medical professional?
Yes, clinicians on the Rex MD platform are all experienced healthcare professionals licensed in your state and qualified to conduct medical consultations and prescribe medications. They’ll have a conversation with you and evaluate your symptoms, just how you’d interact with a doctor for an in-person primary care visit.
Do I have to call a medical professional?
No, there’s no phone call involved. The interaction on our telehealth platform will be handled digitally, either on your phone or from a computer.
